More On The Javon Belcher Tragedy

I tried to stay away from this topic, cause I felt like I was the only one who felt the way I felt BUT seems like I'm not. I must say this dude is/was a totally asshole for taking the life of not only himself but of his girlfriend..especially being that they just had a new child (3 months) who now will be raised with no mom or pops.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Jovan Belcher's mother begged her son's dying girlfriend to stay alive while frantically asking for an ambulance shortly after the Kansas City Chiefs linebacker shot the mother of his 3-month-old daughter, according to a recording of the emergency call released Wednesday.

Belcher, 25, shot 22-year-old Kasandra Perkins at their Kansas City home Saturday morning, then drove to Arrowhead Stadium, where he shot himself in the head in front of Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli and coach Romeo Crennel, police said.

"She's still breathing but please hurry," Cheryl Shepherd says on the recording of her call with Kansas City emergency dispatchers. "I don't know how he (inaudible), they were arguing, please hurry."

Shepherd also is heard encouraging Perkins to stay alive.

"Stay with me, the ambulance is on the way. Stay with me Kasandra, stay with me," Shepherd yells.

Shepherd told dispatchers that Perkins was bleeding, "just barely" awake and that it looked as though she was wounded in the back. She said Perkins moved when she spoke to her.

When a police dispatcher asked about Belcher, Shepherd says only: "He left."

When police arrived at the couple's home at about 7:50 a.m. local time, they found Perkins' body on the floor of the master bathroom with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a police incident report.

Shepherd, 54, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that she was not happy about the release of recordings of the emergency phone call.

"I just got a phone call that they did that, and I don't appreciate it," she said. "Right now I don't want to talk about it."

She also told the AP that the slayings have not diminished her love for the couple.

"That's my son, and I love him," Shepherd said in a brief telephone conversation Wednesday. "She's my daughter-in-law, just like my daughter."

Shepherd declined to say anything more about her son.

Friends have said the couple had a strained relationship in the weeks before the shooting.

Hours before the murder-suicide, police found Belcher sleeping in his car outside an apartment complex about 10 miles from the home he shared with Perkins and their child. He told officers he was at the apartment to visit a woman he described as his girlfriend, but that she wasn't home. Belcher then made a phone call and a woman let him into the building, police said. Police did not question the woman and said they don't know who she is.

Belcher and Perkins lived apart recently but got back together by Thanksgiving, friend Brianne York told The Associated Press.

At Arrowhead, Belcher thanked Pioli and Crennel for all they had done for him. The men tried to persuade Belcher to put down his handgun but when police arrived, Belcher moved behind a vehicle, knelt down and shot himself once in the head, police said.

Belcher's mother, who has been given temporary custody of the child, said she and Perkins were very close.

"She was a lovely, beautiful young woman. And we had a beautiful relationship," Shepherd said.

Shepherd said her family has been helping her a great deal since the shootings, but that she has had trouble eating and sleeping as she works on her son's funeral arrangements.

"Right now I'm working on everything," she said.

This coulda been avoided.. Sad all the way around.. Blessings to the families and that little one.. SMH.. R.I.P.

Beyonce To Perform The Super Bowl In New Orleans

Looks like Bey will doing doing the Super Bowl in New Orleans this year.. Nice Move. Check out this MTV News Article on what they are looking for or expecting.

Beyoncé must be looking forward to her upcoming performance at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show, because she updated her Tumblr and website with an up-close shot, showing off her football face paint marked "Feb 3" and "2013" under each eye. At this point, it's almost a guarantee that when B hits the stage, fans are in for an unforgettable show.

But how can she outdo herself this time? MTV News came up with a wish list for when Beyoncé hits the gridiron in New Orleans.

Destiny's Child Reunion

Fans have been begging for this reunion for years, with rumors surfacing every so often that Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams are actually planning to release new music or get back on the road together. While none of it has proven true just yet, what better place to get the band back together than on the Super Bowl stage? For all involved parties, it would be less labor-intensive than planning an all-out tour, plus, no fans would be able to complain about missing the nationally televised performance.

Solange Knowles Cameo

Solange is known for being free-spirited and having her own shine outside of her big sister's superstar shadow, but with a new album on the way (led by first single "Losing You"), a Solange cameo doesn't seem too farfetched. Not only will it give her a chance to let a wider audience known she plans to drop an album soon, but she'll also get to show America that Bey isn't the only family member who can break it down on the dance floor.

Jay-Z Duet

Jay-Z and Beyoncé have been coupled up for a decade now, and while they try to keep the joint performances to a minimum — it was rumored that she would perform at her husband's Made in America festival last month but remained a spectator instead — how could Hov, as a sports fanatic, possibly miss a chance to perform with his wife at one of the most-watched events on TV? He recently brought her to the stage in Brooklyn, and they definitely have the resources to whip up a new track specifically tailored to the Super Bowl festivities.

Debut a New Song

Just a few months after her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, was born, Beyoncé was reportedly back in the studio working on her fifth album. Not even a snippet of new music has been revealed just yet, but with Beyoncé's work ethic, we're sure that by February, she'll have at least a few tracks in the bag. Can we get a preview during halftime, Bey?

New Orleans Tribute With Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean worked with Beyoncé on her most recent album, 4, and we wouldn't be surprised if they were teaming up once again for her latest project. Super Bowl XLVII will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, a monumental event for the city that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Frank Ocean just so happens to be a native of New Orleans — he played his first solo show at the House of Blues in NOLA late last year — and it seems fitting that he should make a grand return to his hometown, after the successful release of his debut album, Channel Orange.

Hmm.. a performance with Jay.. I could see that.. they usually share their accomplishments.. I thought about teh Destiny's Child thing but.. would be a good look. I'm glad teh NFL stepped it up in a city like New Orlenas. I will be watching.

Deion Sanders Reality TV Show On The Way

See yall talmbout Deion is hooking up with Tracey Edmonds.. yall should know better..

For the past few months there have been romance rumors swirling around the productive pair. Only recently, Sanders was peeped accompanying Edmonds to the 35th pastorial anniversary gala in Dallas of mega-church minister T.D. Jakes.

Sanders is in the throes of a nasty divorce from Pilar. The couple’s 12-year marriage spiraled into a hellish feud with allegations of cheating on both parts, physical abuse, and nasty verbal threats.

Only last month, Pilar was placed behind bars for domestic violence, after allegedly attacking Sanders in their Texas home in April. The former reality TV star was booked for “assault family violence,” which is a misdemeanor, and was eventually released from police custody but banned from returning to their sprawling 30,000-square-foot Texas mansion.

Sanders previously agreed to work with Edmonds on an NFL film project about his coaching of the football team at Prime Academy, his Texas charter school, but there’s been no further word about this undertaking.

Tracey looks NIIIIIICE.. shouts to you Deion.. hella upgrade..

Oakland Raider LB Rolando McClain Gets 180 Days In Jail

.....N**CCAS

Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain was sentenced to 180 days in jail on Thursday, according to Michael Casagrande of the Decatur Daily. McClain was found guilty on charges of assault, reckless endangerment, menacing, and wrongful discharge of a firearm for an incident on Nov. 30, 2011, in Decatur, Al.

McClain was in Decatur for a funeral last November. He and a man named Jaradious Willingham were arrested after an altercation in which they attacked Rishard Tapscott that night.

On Wednesday, a cell phone video of the attack surfaced. On Thursday, McClain’s co-defendant, Willingham, pleaded guilty to 3rd degree assault before the trial and agreed to testify against McClain. Willingham received 90 days in jail and a $300 fine.

Tapscott also filed a civil suit against McClain and Willingham for damages related to the attack.

McClain will also face discipline from the NFL, most likely in the form of a suspension.

Laron Landry Disses Redskins Management

Ex Redskin now NY Jets Safety Laron Landry had issues with the Redskins management and took it to twitter. That IS what real folks do right. *sarcasm*

Nick Wass - Associated Press) An early sign that LaRon Landry’s Redskins tenure might end with bad feelings came last week, when the team signed free agent safety Brandon Meriweather. Not long after, Landry retweeted a comment from one of his followers that went like this:

[bleep] Meriwether I rather have @MrLandry30

Now, retweets do not necessarily imply endorsement. Maybe Landry was doing this to ironically point out that his followers don’t even know how to spell Meriweather’s last name. Maybe he was subtly marveling at the loyalty fans still feel toward players in a business that has seemed to crush all loyalty. Maybe he hit the wrong button.

But whatever. The team signed a safety and a potential new teammate, and Landry retweeted a comment cursing that man out.

Then this week came, and Landry signed with the Jets, and a few of his followers expressed dismay, and Landry retweeted their thoughts. And they weren’t kind to the Redskins. A sampling from his feed:

* [Landry] left my Skins for the Jets cause they weren’t smart enough to keep him!.... they just might regret it smh

* As a Redskins fan, [Landry] stepped up and helped us cope when we lost Sean. Now we lost him too...our team management makes me sick!

* i completely agree i am a skins fan for life but there maniging sucks

* we’ll always love you in DC . The management don’t know what they doing

* that’s what I’m talking bout homie big up to LL. Welcome to NY homie lets do the damn thing skins thank you for being stupid!!!!

* Redskins management was STUPID to let you go. Miracles happen and your foot would have healed. SMFH. I’m a Jets fan now. J-E-T-S

If you know me.. you KNOW im totally critical of the Skins and their front office decisions..but ole buddy had to go.. his foot aint worth nada.. sorry. You want top dollar from us but sign a 1 YR DEAL.. get with it mane.. stay out the gym bruh or join WWE.. either way we wish you well.. but.. PEEEEEACE *pam from martin voice*

Drew Brees Wants His Money..

Looks like the Saints are tryna nickle n dime their franchise QB.. smh..

Pro Football Talk - According to a report, the Saints want to pay Drew Brees as though he is a very good, but not great quarterback.

New Orleans general manager Mickey Loomis made the distinction between Brees being "very good" and "great" in a recent discussion about the status of the soon-to-be free agent's contract, according to three NFL sources.

The Saints and Brees are believed to be about $5 million a year apart on a new contract.

Looks like this will drag out.. but ultimately the Saints know tehy can't do anything without Brees..so until then.. he chills

Desean Jackson.. FRANCHISED

ESPN.com - The Eagles have placed their franchise tag on wide receiver DeSean Jackson, the team announced Thursday.

The deadline for teams to use their franchise tags is Monday, March 5.

Everyone saw this coming..

Desean Jackson Will Be An Eagle..One Way or Another

Seems like Desean Jackson is not going any where next year as the Eagles plan on retaining his services..with that said.. with THIS make him happy?

The Philadelphia Inquirer, citing league sources, reported Sunday that the Eagles won't let go of receiver DeSean Jackson, whose contract is about to expire, without getting something in return. That would mean the Eagles are all but guaranteed to place the franchise tag on their Pro Bowl receiver if a deal isn't reached by March 5, the deadline for teams to franchise players.
By franchising Jackson, the Eagles wouldn't let him hit the open market and maintain the option to trade the fifth-year receiver.

The Inquirer, citing sources close to Jackson, also reported that he would be willing to sign the Eagles' one-year tender worth approximately $9.5 million (or nearly $9 million more than he earned last year).

Last month, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said he would welcome the controversial Jackson back to the Eagles "if the right terms develop."

Last season wasn't just rocky for Jackson off the field with his contract dispute, but also on it, where his production slipped. Jackson had just 58 catches for 961 and four touchdowns. His 16.6 yards-per-catch average was nearly six yards lower than his 2010 average of 22.5

Let's see what happens.. All I know is I'm not drafting em next year in Fantasy..
