David Stern got into an on-air confrontation with radio personality Jim Rome on Wednesday when he was asked about questions surrounding the NBA's Lottery.
The exchange was possibly the most talked about piece of NBA news during an offday between Games 1 and 2 of The Finals.
Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski writes that there is hope in some high-ranking circles that Stern will transfer power to Adam Silver 'sooner than later'.
"One owner told Yahoo! Sports that Stern 'has a few good years left in him,' and insisted he didn’t care about Wednesday’s diatribe," wrote Wojnarowski. "Another owner and several executives felt his behavior on Rome's show diminished the league and needlessly distracted from the spectacular buzz surrounding this Miami-Oklahoma City series."
