Wale Talks New Album & "New" Sound
The rapper everyone loves to hate Wale aka Folarin is dropping his new LP on MMG next year. It looks like he is going back to the "Attention Deficit" sound.. which is not a bad thing.
Maybach Music Group rapper Wale has already begun work on his third album. The Washington, D.C. rhymer says that he's looking forward to pushing the envelope, and told MTV recently that he will be taking more musical risks this time around.
"It probably sounds the most like '100 Miles & Running' and a little bit of Attention Deficit," he said. "I just wanna show range. I've proven a lot to my peers and to myself and to my fans, so I just want to take it back to something a little bit more exciting, when the music was most exciting to me."
The album is due to be released in February.
"I've been [swamped with] my own stuff, doing [MMG compilation album] Self Made and all of those things, and I haven't had an opportunity to stand on my own sonically as an artist, as much as I would like," he added. "But this new project I've been working on is definitely allowing me to do that."
