Fat Joe Pleads Guilty To Tax Evasion..Looking At 2 Years In Prison

DAMN.. Another rapper bites the dust..

As we reported before he 42-year-old rapper, real name Joseph Cartagena aka Fat Joe was accused of evading taxes amounting to approximately $700k in income taxes for the years 2007 and 2008. He appeared in a Federal Court in New Jersey today and pleaded guilty to the charges.


Joe has been freed on a $250k bond for now but faces up to 2 years in prison when his sentence is announced in April, 2013. Via TMZ

Hip hop superstar 50 Cent ended his long-standing feud with rival Fat Joe earlier this year after the death of beloved music manager Chris Lighty. In a recent interview, 50 explained just why that sad occasion sparked him to want to bridge the rift between them.


"Chris would always talk to me like, 'Why don't y'all sit down or try to let that go?' ... I'd tell him, 'Get outta here,' all the time. When he passed, Joe showed him a lot of respect," 50 explained. "He ain't have to. I worked the closest with him, it changed my perspective on it. And then you gotta look back at what exactly's the reason, what caused it. He's got a lot more pride than most hip-hop artists. It was just the way he was raised. He was being loyal because someone had did something for him, being loyal to that, that's what created that energy [between us coming together]."
