Common Talk About A Follow Up To "Be"
I have always been a Common fan but I will say his cross over success started with the "Be" album in my opinion.. anyhoo.. looks like he is trying to rekindle that flame with producer Kanye West..
One of Chicago-born rapper Common's most beloved albums is his 2005 hit, Be. The accalimed emcee revealed that he would be open to recording a follow-up alongside his friend Kanye West, who produced the bulk of that project. But Common wouldn't want to do it until the time is right.
"Yes. You know, when the time is right, I would love to get together [with Kanye] on some more music. It would be an act of passion, it would be a creative project. It would be fun instead of, 'I ain’t gotta do it, he ain’t gotta do it,'" Common told Complex. "It’s not like we had to do it then or when we first did it, but it’d be a fun thing for us to do. No matter where you go, you get reminded and you’re like, 'I got into this because I love making music, I love Hip Hop, and I love being creative.' Being able to work together with Kanye would be one of those experiences for me. How with No I.D. I had an experience like, 'This is what I do. This is Hip Hop.'"
"To be honest, I’ve been in the studio and I was doing some recording, but it was mostly me, Big Sean, Cyhi, Pusha, and Teyana in there," he said of working with the G.O.O.D. Music family. "For me, it was fun to just be able to rock with them and cats is smoking, cats is doing what they do, having fun more than anything. Just figuring it out. I can remember Big Sean being like, 'You should get on this' talking about 'Mercy.' I wanted to get on that. I wish I would’ve gotten on it," he said. "I was working, doing something. Eventually the record, it got done quicker than I could get my verse out. They put it out and it was banging."

QTip..Common.. and Now Nas Form The Standard
If this came to fruition many Hip Hop heads would grab their backpacks and unite..Check it out..
Rappers Common and Q-Tip announced back in 2007 that they were going to form a supergroup called The Standard and it looks like the project may finally be happening. In a surprising twist, another legendary emcee may be on board. Queensbridge rhymer Nas has reportedly joined the group, but the official plans for an album have not materialized as of yet.
The New York Daily News reports that Nas replied “Definitely,” when asked about recording with Common and Q-Tip.
Common just released The Dreamer, The Believer at the tail end of 2011 and both Q-Tip and Nas are currently recording upcoming albums.

Maya Angelou Doesn't Like You Common
After agreeing to be on rapper Common's new album, Maya Angelou is now pissed Common uses the N Word
For rapper Common’s new album, The Dreamer/The Believer, Maya Angelou agreed to craft and recite new work for the track “The Dreamer.” But, according to an interview with The New York Post, Angelou is disappointed with Common’s use of a certain politically-charged racial slur on the track, calling it, “vulgar and dangerous.”
“I’m surprised and disappointed. I don’t know why he chose to do that. I had never heard him use that [word] before. I admired him so because he wasn’t singing the line of least resistance.”
Common told the Post that he’d already made Angelou aware that the word is, “a part of [him].” The pair have a close relationship, the article citing that Angelou, “once said he could be her son.” We can only imagine that he must be feeling pretty badly about this rift in their bond.
AYE.. Maya.. STFU.. This is the problem with the older generation now, faulting niccas for having their own progressive way of thinking. It's a reason I never seen her with a man. smh.. plus this aint the first or last time Common done duped a chick..
