Raekwon WILL NOT Be In the Ol Dirty Bastard Film

Looks like Rae will not be in the film as well..

There have been numerous reports that the members of the Wu-Tang Clan would be playing themselves in the upcoming biopic about Clan member Ol' Dirty Bastard. But that may not be the case. GZA's representatives indicated earlier this week that he was not taking part in the film, and today (June 6th) Raekwon also indicated that he isn't in the movie.

According to Pitchfork Media, Raekwon has said he will not be appearing in Dirty White Boy.

Raekwon has not given any 'official' reason behind his not participating in the film. Other members like Method Man and Ghostface Killah are still reportedly on board for the project.

Earlier it was reported that the GZA would not participate as well..

Michael K Williams Talks Ol DB KID..

Can't wait to see this film.. Check out what "Omar" has to say..

Actor Michael K. Williams spoke to MTV about portraying the late Ol' Dirty Bastard in Dirty White Boy, which is currently filming. Williams, famous for his edgy roles on "The Wire" and "Boardwalk Empire," revealed how he prepped for the project.

"I am doing a lot of research on Russell," he said. "I had the pleasure of meeting his beautiful mother, Ms. Cherry. We sat down for, like, three hours, and she told me the most amazing stuff about her son and a lot of things that the public didn't know. I've been talking to people who know him well ... people who knew him when the cameras wasn't rolling. I've got a lot of insight into who he was as a human being and as a man and, dare I say it, scholar. The dude was actually quite smart. You have to be able to recite mathematics and be five percent God body — you can't play with that. You have to know what you're talking about. It's a lot of studying, a lot of knowledge."

"It's drama, but if you know ODB, there's going to be some comedy, but we're not playing to that. It's going to be shot as a straight piece, no buffoonery, for lack of a better word," Williams said. "It's only going to cover the last two years of his life when he was released from prison to the day he died. It's just an insight into what he struggled with in the public eye."

Ol Dirty Bastard Movie in the Works

It looks like a movie is in the works for Russell Jones aka Ol D B (Ol Dirty Bastard) Playing him is none other than Omar from The Wire. Check it out.

Actor Michael K. Williams has been tapped to star as fallen rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard in the film Dirty White Boy. Williams is best known for his roles as Omar on HBO's "The Wire" and Chalky White on "Boardwalk Empire." The film is being produced by company Parts & Labor (Beginners) with Ocean Side Pictures' Todd Hagopian and is based on a screenplay by Brent Hoff.

The film tells the story ODB through the eyes of a 22-year old VH1 employee named Jarred Weisfeld who becomes friends with the rapper. ODB's mother and Weisfeld have signed off on the project.

"We both knew full well who Ol' Dirty Bastard was but this story completely floored us. As filmmakers, we knew that this would make a great film and that Jarred Weisfeld would offer an actor a complicated and compelling character to play. This felt to us like 'Risky Business' and '8 Mile,' with equal elements of darkness, humor, and humanity," said Hagopian. "We are thrilled to have the genius of Joaquin Baca-Asay behind the camera, directing this incredibly original screenplay by Brent Hoff. I know Michael K. Williams will leave audiences completely in awe as Russell Jones, the man behind the character ‘Ol' Dirty Bastard."

I would be interested in seeing this.. he was a hella character and seems to have been the backbone of the Wu..IMO.. BUT.. nonetheless I hope this happens. He was too intriguing a guy.
